The organ of Notre-Dame de Niort is the oldest and best preserved instrument in the department (79). It benefits from high manufacturing quality and unique and varied sounds. He is also one of the rare representatives of pre-Romantic organ building in the region (first half of the 1th century).
From 15 p.m. to 17 p.m. presentation of the instrument by the Orgues-à-Niort association. Diagrams and images of the mechanics will be projected on the big screen and accompanied by explanations and musical improvisations. It will be possible to play the organ keyboards in small groups.
17 p.m.: Concert given by organ musicians to make the sounds of the organ heard in a varied repertoire. Duration 1 hour.
Free contribution to organizational costs.
