The exhibition invites you to discover the art produced in detention between the beginning of the 19th century, marked by the rise of penal prisons, and the middle of the 20th century, which sealed the closure of the penal colony of Guyana. A scientific and sensitive approach to penitentiary history, through the prism of works and objects of art created by prisoners.

Exhibition organized with the City of Niort and Criminocorpus Lab (UAR 3726 CNRS Ministry of Justice).
