The Compagnie Folie Lyrique presents with enthusiasm and dynamism its new show “Orpheus in the Underworld” by Offenbach, one of the most performed operettas in the world, which imaginatively revisits the mythological story of Orpheus and his wife Eurydice.
This show brings together a dozen artists, in costumes and sets, accompanied on the piano by professional pianist Arnaud OREB.
As we say colloquially, “there is water in the gas” in the Orpheus-Eurydice couple. Fortunately for Orpheus, Eurydice dies.
But Public Opinion enjoins Orpheus to plead his case with the god Jupiter so that his wife is returned to him from the Underworld, the kingdom of Pluto.
