Visite commentée de la chapelle St Macrine, à Magné – Journées européennes du partrimoine 2024

Saturday, September 21 at 14 a.m.
Route de la Chapelle 79460 MAGNE
The chapel located in the Marais Poitevin is dedicated to Saint Macrina. A sanctuary already existed in 936, this one is much more recent.

Come and take a guided or self-guided tour, then consult numerous documents relating to the chapel and pilgrimages.

The Sainte-Macrine hill in Magné, where several sanctuaries have succeeded one another, is a place of pilgrimage already recognized in 936. The current chapel dates from 1896.

Inside, you can see a stone statue representing Macrina, Patron Saint of the Marais, made in 1926 by two local artists and a painting from 1806, (recently restored) painted by Miss Pauline de Cugnac d'Épannes.

Free, without reservation.
