The chapel located in the Marais Poitevin is dedicated to Saint Macrina. A sanctuary already existed in 936, this one is much more recent.
Come and take a guided or self-guided tour, then consult numerous documents relating to the chapel and pilgrimages.
The Sainte-Macrine hill in Magné, where several sanctuaries have succeeded one another, is a place of pilgrimage already recognized in 936. The current chapel dates from 1896.
Inside, you can see a stone statue representing Macrina, Patron Saint of the Marais, made in 1926 by two local artists and a painting from 1806, (recently restored) painted by Miss Pauline de Cugnac d'Épannes.
