Well, imagine yes! Every summer for 9 years, a beach of 600 m2 takes place Pre Leroy, to the delight of all those who stay in town in the summer. Since July 8 and until August 24, the City of Niort, the tourism office, local associations and CAN offer you to many free and paid activities. On the sand, on land, on the water, in the air… there is something for everyone!

You don't know which activity to choose? Do not panic ! Meet at the chaletTourist Office. Antoine welcomes you and advises you from 14 p.m. to 19 p.m. Antoine also tested for us the new 2014: the canoe hiking day of Niort à Magne (Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 18 p.m., reservation the day before 19 p.m.). He gives us his impressions:
“For me, who doesn’t go canoeing often, this hike is the best way to combine a relaxing and sporty day. It is not necessary to have a high level of sport, but you still need to know how to swim and be comfortable on the water. Canoe hiking allows you to disconnect for a day while remaining Niort or close to Niort. We find ourselves on the Sèvre in the heart of the City and everything seems so far away, so peaceful. You just have to let yourself be carried by the current and give a few paddle strokes. By taking the Sèvre we discover the city and its surroundings from a different perspective. Very quickly, we are won over by the beautiful setting that the Sèvre offers us. There is no shortage of curiosities during this day with the resurgence of the Source du Vivier shortly before Pre Leroy where the water is so clear that it lets us discover the bottom of this arm of the river. The passage in the city center of Niort is a moment not to be missed, with the “canoe pass” for those who love white water and the almost unique canoe lock. Once you return from your canoe trip, you can relax at the bar Niort Beach. Le P'tit Square allows you to have a snack or a drink in complete peace and quiet, from 15 p.m. to 21 p.m. Children can also enjoy an inflatable structure to let off steam. Budding musicians can meet there to “hit the jam”, every Tuesday in July from 19 p.m.
