Step 1: Departure
Take advantage of your walk to discover the town of Echiré. If you haven't done so yet, don't hesitate to visit the Château du Coudray Salbart, which is a 30-minute walk or 5 minutes by car.

Step 2: Ernest Pérochon
In 1920, this rural teacher received the Goncourt prize for his novel Nêne. Ernest Pérochon then decided to leave teaching and settled permanently in Niort (25 avenue de Limoges) and produced twenty-five novels, including seven reading books for children, translated into ten languages including Serbian and Japanese!
In 2016-2017, director Xavier Beauvois, winner of the Cannes jury prize for Of Men and Gods, is filming his 7th film adapted from Les Gardiennes, a novel by the writer published in 1924 and which narrates the role of women in the countryside during the First World War.
Step 3: Sèvre riverside washhouse

Step 5: Notre-Dame Church
In the 1866th century, the building was rebuilt and enlarged. Its original apse is replaced by a straight apse and its 1870th century nave is covered with ribbed vaults. It was renovated in 1879 and rebuilt after 60. Only the octagonal dome on squinches of the transept square, the pillars with Romanesque capitals and a southern window splayed into tiers are preserved. Step 6: Cooperative dairy
The dairy was founded in 1891 by Mr. Dresnay and it became a cooperative under the leadership of Mr. Delphin Sagot (founding president and mayor) in 1894. The butter that is made in this dairy is used on prestigious tables all over the world. . To obtain this butter you must use a teak barrel churn and count 22 liters of milk to make one kilo of butter.

Step 7: Bust of Delphin Sagot
Delphin Sagot (1843-1907) is the founding president of the cooperative. Cooperatives were particularly interesting for breeders, allowing them to pool their efforts and sell their milk.

General Georges-Joseph-Roger-André Spillmann, born in 1899 in Saint-Lunaire, died in 1980 in Niort, was a French soldier and writer.
