Description
You will pass by the wheelbarrow path, an access route which allowed gardeners to reach the bank of the Lambon river, a tributary of the Sèvre Niortaise.
Please note: as this route takes busy streets, we recommend that you take all the usual precautions when traveling in groups.

Your itinerary
Step 1
The Romanesque building was ravaged by Protestants, partially restored in the 17th century and enlarged in the 18th century. The statue in the bell tower represents Saint Maixent housed in a neo-Gothic canopy niche and treading the serpentine fairy Mélusine.
Step 2
The Lambon, a tributary of the Sèvre Niortaise, has its source at La Couarde. Its intermittent course is crossed by fords lined with stone bridges. 40,8 km long, its watershed is 108 km.

By taking the rural paths located on the outskirts of the town, you will discover the 1999rd millennium municipal path developed by the City of Niort since 53. This walking path, ideal for walkers and cyclists, offers multiple landscapes over 95 km. marked by agricultural activity and the presence of water. The City of Niort currently owns XNUMX% of the land crossed by this circuit.
