A professional beekeeper, I have been based since 2017 in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, in the small town of St-Georges-de-Rex. My bees enjoy a wide diversity of flowers here in spring, allowing me to produce fresh honey and pollen. The months of May and June are punctuated by the transhumance of hives towards other flowering areas, such as acacias and chestnut trees.
The beginning of July marks the return of the colonies which will quietly produce honey from summer flowers, allowing them to begin a well-deserved rest.
By tasting the honeys, we will then enjoy this beautiful journey offered to us by our wandering foragers. Don’t hesitate to come and discover our profession as a beekeeper and the world of bees during a guided tour at the Honey House! A tasting will be offered and the children will be able to make their own little beeswax candle!
