The Honey of the Vagabond Beekeepers
About
A professional beekeeper, I have been based in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, in the small commune of St-Georges-de-Rex, since 2017. My bees enjoy a wide variety of flowers here in spring, enabling me to produce honey and fresh pollen, as well as royal jelly from a small proportion of them. The months of May and June are punctuated by the transhumance of the hives to other flowering areas, such as the acacia and chestnut trees. Early July sees the return of the colonies, which will quietly produce the summer flower honey, giving them a well-deserved rest.
By tasting the honeys, we can enjoy the beautiful journey offered to us by our wandering foragers.
