Special moments I'd like to share with you: 1 and a half days of filming to prepare for the show. "France's favourite village presented by Stéphane Bern, due to be broadcast on France 2 at the end of June.
Location : the village of Arçaislabelled small town with character since January. Arçais will be in competition with 22 other villages... Obviously the game is not up, but all the charms of this pretty market town will be revealed.

It is Jean Leyssenneformer mayor, who will be the guide and will meet René Mathéa young retired architect, on the towpath. A discussion begins abouttraditional market gardeningFirstly, on the reach side (the waterway between two dams within which the water level is more or less constant). It is easy to understand the vital role played by the Sèvre.
You can see a succession of rooms and the hayloft (where hay was stored). You can imagine all the activities on the farm. Next door, the alleyway, which was wide enough for a wheelbarrow to pass through... Life was rustic in this part of La Garenne... Jean remembers the arrival of the first water points in 1958...
A change of scenery... on the street side. A traditional facade, a house opening onto the street where 3 generations often lived... It's hard to imagine that we're in the heart of the Poitevin MarshesRené likes to say that market gardeners also have their "pyramids"...
Day two, filming continues. A new team arrives. They are the drone pilots. I can't wait to see the shots of these strange machines!

Jean continues his walk and visits Nadia, who lives in the beautiful house with green shutters facing the portaccessible only by boat. Lunch will be a fricassee of eels caught that very morning by a market gardener.

One last shot before I retire... The marshes of yesteryear... with women in traditional costume on the portJean-Philippe and his horse on the boat.
A big thank you to the whole team, to the people we called on for their availability, and to the large number of curious visitors, for sharing these moments with us.
We'll be sure to keep you informed of the broadcast date... and... make sure that Arçais is elected". France's favourite village "We're counting on you!
