What better way to (re)discover Poitevin Marshes than a bike ride? I suggest you follow our itinerary for the day.
You'll fall in love with the little paths along the Sèvre Niortaisebetween urban and natural landscapes. It's the countryside in the city.
We go through Noron and Saint-Liguaire to reach Magne. Along the way, you may come across, as we did, cows resting peacefully on the grass or a kingfisher skimming across the water.
On the way back, we take the route de la Garette to reach Sevreau and Saint-Liguairethen Port Boinot. Along the way, you can admire Sainte-Macrine chapel bearing the effigy of the patron saint of the region's boatmen and farmers. Poitevin Marshes.
A nice little extra is the chain boat This little boat takes you from one bank to the other. Be careful, it's better to be several people to be able to manage with the bikes and to be sure to be able to board.
Come and enjoy nature by discovering the rich marsh ecosystem. Here, the flora and fauna are in their wild state, allowing you to admire unique landscapes between town and country.
*We hope it will reopen soon!
